Our Story ... You could say it's in our blood. The Egan family are quite literally from meat stock; founder Peter Egan's career began in the 60s in the family's Gisborne butcher shop. A lifetime of working in the New Zealand meat industry followed, including creating Greenlea Premier meats in 1993. For twenty-five years Greenlea has been exporting premium quality New Zealand beef for the world to enjoy. As New Zealand's fourth largest beef exporter, we are big enough to achieve great things but small enough to care. This care extends to our staff and farmers who together ensure Greenlea's success. Our farmers take pride in sustainably producing superior quality, grass-fed, antibiotic- and hormone-free beef. And now with our online store, Greenlea Butcher Shop, you too can enjoy our export quality meat delivered direct to your door. We also offer Ovation lamb, and in September we will begin offering FirstLight venison.
