Good George Brewing and Dip It Chippery
Call in to your local favourite Good George Brewing on the Exhibition Lawn to try one of their latest releases of fine ales. While you’re there order some gourmet hot chips from Dip It served with a delightful range of tasty homemade toppings and dressings.
Mizzoni Pizzas and Beer Tasting
Head along to the Boulevard and enjoy Mizzoni Pizzas matched with a selection of wines from The Hamilton Wine and Beer Company. Take a break; enjoy a wood-fired pizza and a fine wine to boutique beer in their spacious seating area.
Vilagrad Winery
Be sure to visit the Vilagrad Winery Wine Bar & Restaurant in The Tunnel between Heaphy and Brooklyn Courts. Their large 100sqm site will be all dressed up and set out like a mini Vilagrad.
Visitors will be treated to great food, award-winning Vilagrad wines, and live music. Delectable platters of local cheese, dried meats, spreads and homemade chutneys will showcase Waikato fare. An exquisite range of wines will be available to taste. Vilagrad is famed for creating high quality, hand-crafted wines that reflect the climate and soils of the region.
Head to the Vilagrad marquee at the Home Show and enjoy some genuine, home-grown hospitality.
Limoncello Sovrano Eatery
Located at the north end of the Heaphy Pavilion, Sovrano Limoncello's Italian-themed restaurant is serving traditional Sicilian style arancini balls, prosciutto paninis, Italian salami platters and cheese platters at this year's show. Made from fried rice, the arancini balls come in a variety of flavours including bolognese, spinach, sausage and pesto, pumpkin and mozzarella. To complement these mouthwatering treats sangrias, Italian beers and Italian soft drinks are being served by a bevy of handsome Italian men. Fantastico!
Kalex Wines & Ekhaya
Every year Kalex Wines comes all the way from Central Otago to showcase their portfolio of wines at the Home Show and give the Waikato public an opportunity to sample and buy a great range of wines including some of world's finest Central Otgao pinot noir. The quality of their wines is derived from the immaculate standards of winemaker Theo Coles, whose unique yet classical approach to winemaking yields the detailed expressions of the company's hand-picked sites. Theo’s patience and rare sensory discernment produces romantic, complex wines which are full of character and stand out from the crowd. Take time out and visit the Kalex Wines and Eatery in the new Brooklyn Gardens while you are viewing the NZ Landscape Design Awards.
Kalex Wines will be matched with a menu from Ekhaya. New to the show, the exciting food truck-style business from Taupo is run by South African couple, Morgen Kuch and Glen Robberts, a qualified chef who has worked in some top restaurants in South Africa and New Zealand. Starting his new food truck business was an opportunity to get outside the kitchen and have more autonomy in menu choices. Taking its name from Zulu meaning 'at home', Ekhaya specialises in modern, fresh-made eclectic food that is a joy to eat. Gluten-free, vegetarian and dairy free dietary requirements are catered for where possible.
Domaine and Mills Reef Winery
Popular Victoria Street restaurant Domaine is setting up an outdoor cafe in association with Mills Reef Winery. Slow-braised lamb shoulder with cauliflower puree, lentils and jus is being served as well as seared scallops with pea-puree and bacon. Located at the entrance to the Exhibition Lawn, Domaine is also be launching a selection of craft-made artisan pies; beef and Guinness; beef and cheese; chicken and ham hock. All meats are organic from Harmony Foods.
Gourmet Shuttle
Gourmet Shuttle are once again offering their lovely warm carved ham sandwiches, salads and desserts in their café at the bottom of Heaphy Court.
The Stables Cafe, Wine Bar and Brewery
With plenty of undercover seating and live entertainment in the Stables you can take a breather and enjoy some seriously good food and wine under the comfort of the big beautiful Shupepe tent. The innovative, totally unique Freeform® stretch tent, with no ropes, is taking the New Zealand marquee industry to new heights. Sit back and relax on seating provided by leading rustic furniture manufacturer Black Dog Furniture. The company, which has just moved to a new showroom in the rustic Bruntwood Dairy Factory, 485 Peake Rd, Bruntwood, is renowned for its iconic solid wood bars, bar leaners, tables, coffee tables, chairs, stools and outdoor furniture. Take advantage of Black Dog's special Home Show prices and choose a setting for your garden this year.
As first-time Home Show exhibitors, wine merchants Poulter Group Wines, are introducing their Duck Point Wines. Recently launched in New Zealand supermarkets, the wines are available for sampling at the show, as well as for sale from glass through to case. Originally from Raglan, but now based in Auckland, the family-owned and operated business is a trusted leading wine merchant in both quality and value.
They are exhibiting alongside Shunters Yard Brewery. No strangers to the show, the home-grown brewery from Matangi is back for a fourth time. Also making a repeat appearance is Bird on a Wire from Ponsonby. The business is providing an array of free range rotisserie chicken rolls and seasonal salads, with vegetarian options and black pepper tofu.
Hot Spring Spas are exhibiting with a Hot Springs Extrazaganza in the Outdoor Living Design Court, adjoining the Stables area.
