Afghanloom is a business born of two nations; New Zealand and Afghanistan. We aim to introduce the skilled craftsmanship of Afghan rug makers into New Zealand homes, offices and showrooms. To emphasise the unique quality of our product all our rugs maintain visible hand knotted work, blended with contemporary designs.

Historically Afghanistan has struggled with conflict, despite this, the Afghani people persevere and continue to produce world class products. Through their work with Afghanloom we hope to offer financial stability and independence for the craftsmen and women as well as there families.

With the help of USAID and New Zealand, we established the ability to produce washed and dyed wool in Afghanistan perfect for use in our products. Traditionally the wool would have been exported raw to other nations to be processed, but now we are proud to be part of rebuilding Afghani industry through our facilities.
