Beam Electrolux Built-In Vacuum Systems

BEAM by Electrolux Central Vacuum Systems, headquartered in Charlotte, NC, began operation as BEAM Manufacturing Co., producing washing machines, dishwashers, and "Doodlebug" scooters that became famous during World War II when gasoline rationing came into effect.

In 1957, BEAM Manufacturing Company was sold, and Beam Industries emerged with R.L. Sampson at the helm. The company focused solely on central vacuum systems. John Coghlan who retired in March of 2006, after 18 years as president, led BEAM Industries to become the undisputed technology and market leader in the central vacuum industry.

Russell S. Minick, the third president of BEAM Industries, joined the company in June 2006 with a pledge to work toward making central vacuum systems a staple in new American homes and to grow BEAM market leadership in Canada and internationally.
