Brooklyn Gardens & Landscape Design Awards

The premier outdoor destination at the Home Show

Under the cover of a sculptural 40 metre marquee, Brooklyn Gardens - the Premier Destination - is destined to carry on the Waikato Home & Garden Show’s proud tradition of spectacular landscape displays.

Visitors will be able to wander along a broad boulevard of Premier paving, past raised display and entertainment areas designed by Wild Exposure featuring South Island schist and timber. There will be a bush scene with nikaus, tropical palms and mass bromeliad plantings, which will be lit beautifully on the Show’s late night.

Husband and wife team, Graeme Burton and Val Glenn from Rukuhia Homestead Landscaping have designed a Japanese Garden, which will include delicate maples bursting into leaf, water feature and some amazing handcrafted bonsais, created by Graeme. The most ancient is 35 years old and usually takes pride of place in Val and Graeme’s very own garden. Val is also well known for her creative skills in designing and will be adding her touch to the site with lanterns and lighting.

View the popular NZ Landscape Design Awards courtyards, which this year follow the theme 'A Picturesque Garden' from the paved boulevard and don’t forget to vote for your favourite garden - you’ll be in to win thousands of dollars worth of landscaping product from Revital and Complete Landscape Supplies. You can also bid for the paving in the boulevard. Bid for a little or a lot! Just talk to Bernard on the Premier stand.

At the end of the boulevard, visitors can take a break and absorb the area’s beauty from an exciting cafe and wine bar. Relax and enjoy the musicians and street theatre while you try beautiful Central Otago wines from Kalex Wines and delicious food from Taupo’s Ekhaya Restaurant.
