Great Barrier Furniture

Our furniture is designed and manufactured in our workshop located on idyllic Great Barrier Island in the Hauraki Gulf. We use wind and solar power to run our machinery, making our workshop as eco friendly as possible. We have a strong focus on sustainability, using only Kwila that has been certified as sustainably milled and approved by Green Peace.

Our frames are designed with boat building principals in mind. We us 20mm ply and 2 x 3 h3 treated pine in our frames and use only stainless steel fastenings, staples and nails to make our furniture strong and durable in outdoor settings. All our joins are glued with epoxy resin for added strength. Our frames are foamed using special ‘Quick Dry’ foam which allows any water to pass through.
